Product Description : Very functional fiberoptic LED pocket otoscope that makes use of a proprietary Full Spectrum Bright White LED. This is the same LED used in the Dr Mom Otoscope but this model has a nose cone that allows for easy application of disposable specula. This is the model you want if you need a pocket otoscope for clinical use. The real big advantage of this otoscope is the very bright fiberoptic LED lighting with a 100,000 hour lifetime meaning you will probably never have to replace a bulb again. If the bulb does go out for any reason just contact us and we will send out a new one for free. Our competitors pocket otoscope (W/A) bulbs are now running $35-$40. Halogen bulbs are incandescent meaning they contain a fragile filament. These go out with just normal use and much sooner if the otoscope is ever jarred or dropped. The other big advantage is that our proprietary LED uses very little battery power. We have had physicians email us that they have had batteries last 6 months or more. Our LED also has a proprietary DC-DC boost converter that allows it to work even when the batteries are very low. For the money spent you will not find a better value in a pocket otoscope for clinical use. IMPORTANT: This otoscope makes use of a LED module meaning the LED is mounted on a circuit board to allow for voltage regulation. It also contains a protective resistor and a DC-DC boost convertor. If you purchase an otoscope with a simple LED bulb connected directly to the battery power source without the circuit board and any type voltage regulation the lifespan is reduced dramatically.
